Mr. Friendly was a community cat so the outdoors was his home. On Thanksgiving Day in 2016, he was found semi-paralyzed on the street – dragging his hind legs. He was brought to the emergency center. Despite his health condition, his friendly nature did not suffer. His microchip was planted when he was fixed in August 2016 as part of the TNR program. His colony caretaker was alerted. His diagnosis was spinal infection. The whole community of cat lovers gathered their supports and started the treatment for him. Once his condition stabilized, he came to SVPP to receive further care and treatment. After many months of medication and multiple visits with the Sage’s neurologist, he has been declared adoptable! He has no problem walking or climbing. He moves well on all four feet. Mr. Friendly is being fostered in a wonderful home. His foster mom maybe a bit bias towards her charge and who can fault her ;-) Want to know more about Mr. Friendly… Friendly does not like dogs. He does like other cats, but likes to be top cat. He does enjoy being outdoors, so a supervised outing where he can go out would be best for him. He loves people and prefers companionship of people or other cats in the house. He likes to sleep on the bed. Cat nip toys and string are his favorite. He really loves the banana catnip toy. Even though he will require some extra care, once you meet him that really doesn’t matter because he is such a special cat. Definitely dog-like even though he is not a fan of the breed :) He will even come when you call to him. There is a chance he will never get off antibiotics. However, his imaging continues to improve, and he is only on 1 antibiotic now that he takes easily in a pill pocket. He will need to continue follow up care with the specialist at Sage. Do note that he is FIV+. Cats with this condition can live perfectly long, happy, healthy lives. Please ask to meet Mr. Friendly today!
