Just like people, dogs can have medical issues that endanger their health.  Dogs like Muffin.

Muffin was surrendered to the shelter when her former owner had to enter assisted living.  She was there for a couple of weeks before SVPP met and saved her.

Through no fault of her own, we learned this sweet girl has diabetes, hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol and fats in her blood), and a history of two surgeries in her life for bladder stones.  Her vision is impaired due to diabetic cataracts.  And yet – she is one of the sweetest babies we’ve ever met.  She will dance around with delight when meets new people - especially children!  She loves to be petted and returns the love she is shown.  Although she has extremely limited vision, she enjoys fresh air and sniffing around on daily walks.

Despite her disabilities, her foster-to-adopt forever family fell in love with her at first sight!  Muffin will keep enjoying a happy life on a special diet, medication, and veterinary care with a little help from our wonderful supporters.
