Learn more about the Cairn Terrier.
Benny is a sweet senior looking for a home to call his own. He is blind and deaf, but his disabilities don’t get him down. If he falls, he gets right back up and keeps going. Initially Benny is timid with new people and sensitive about being picked up or having his feet or mouth touched. He would do best with an experienced dog owner and mature considerate children. He likes affection but also likes his own space. While enjoying independence, he likes to be in the same room as his human and furry friends where he’ll curl up and go to sleep nearby. Benny enjoys the company of other dogs and cats and will make a great companion for an existing pet. He’s very polite with other dogs and kitties and gentle while handed food, but he’s a picky eater and doesn’t like most treats. Due to his disabilities, he cannot have access to stairs. He wanders around his space frequently, so access to a large single story space and/or yard would be ideal. Benny is available to a foster-to-adopt family who can accommodate his disabilities and willing to give him love and support him throughout his golden years. He is currently undergoing medical treatments, so the ability to provide transportation to and from a veterinarian in San Jose is required. Prior to adoption, all dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm, vaccinated (including rabies, if age appropriate) and microchipped.
