Volunteer with Silicon Valley Pet Project

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Silicon Valley Pet Project. Your time, talent, and experience play a vital role in helping us save the lives of at-risk animals in our community.

Silicon Valley Pet Project is a foster-based animal rescue, meaning the pets we rescue are cared for in volunteer foster homes—not in a shelter facility. We partner closely with local municipal shelters, including the San José Animal Care Center, to rescue at-risk dogs and cats, provide medical care and rehabilitation, and place them in loving homes.

As a growing nonprofit animal rescue organization, we rely on dedicated volunteers to support every aspect of our work—from events and outreach to administrative support, marketing, and community programs. Whether you prefer hands-on involvement or remote opportunities, there are many ways to make a meaningful impact.

Silicon Valley Pet Project is committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of diversity and inclusion. Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. The collective sum of your unique experiences, perspectives, and talents strengthens our organization and helps us better serve both animals and our community.

Volunteer Opportunities

SVPP offers volunteers a rewarding, educational and fun experience.  There are many opportunities to learn new skills and apply your expertise to our cause, meet wonderful people in our community and have some fun while you are saving lives.

Youth Participation

There are many ways our youth can get involved in helping us with our mission to help homeless pets in our community.

Workplace Giving

Many companies offer "Volunteer Grant Programs," which match the hours employees spend volunteering with monetary donations, effectively doubling the impact of their charitable efforts.  Be sure to log your volunteer hours with SVPP to maximize your impact! These matched donations play a vital role in supporting our mission and help us continue rescuing animals in need.

Group Volunteering

SVPP welcomes group volunteers for one-time projects, but availability of group projects is very limited, and a minimum of $500 donation per group is required. The minimum age requirement for group volunteers is 18 years old. For information about group volunteer opportunities, please contact us at events@svpetproject.org
